Criteria to receive $5000 LODD benefits*
- Death must have occurred on-duty or be duty related.
- Death must meet Federal PSOB guidelines.
- Must be a full-time, part-time, reserve or volunteer law enforcement or fire personnel as defined by ORC.
- Must be employed by a municipality, township, city, county, state or federal agency. (No private agencies or security companies).
- Must be a full time special agent with the ATF, FBI or DEA.
- Must be within chartered areas set forth by GBTB.

The Hometown Heroes Fundraiser was designed to assist law enforcement officers, fire fighters and/or their families with financial assistance due to financial hardships caused by duty related death or injury, non-duty related death or injury and death or injury to a spouse/children. Certain restrictions and guidelines apply. Criteria for Fundraising Benefits
- Notify the Benefits Committe at (614) 212-7526 or e-mail them at: Executive Director, Spencer Salyers at ssalyers@getbehindthebadge.org, Police Liaison Director Eric Brill at ebrill@getbehindthebadge.org or Fire Liaison Director Jeff Miller at jmiller@getbehindthebadge.org.
- Complete the GBTB notification and benefit form.
- Requestor must be a law enforcement officer, fire personnel, department representative or representative of the immediate family.
- Contact person will be responsible for obtaining raffle items, selling admission and raffle tickets as well as provide assistance for event.
- All monetary donations and funds raised must be handled through GBTB and all checks must be made out to GBTB. (Further details apply and will be discussed with contact person)
- All charitable receipts, event flyers, solicitation letters and tickets will be provided by GBTB.
